Our Vacation at Bohol

Our Vacation at Bohol
March 11-13, 2013

Hey, guys! Welcome back! I had my best vacation yet! I’ll describe it to you, every little detail!

We were very excited about this vacation, which is why we woke up at about 3:00 am. We ate breakfast and then loaded the car with our bags. We climbed in ourselves and hit the road. The ride to the airport is an hour from home.

1 hour later….

We climbed out of the car with our bags once we arrived at the airport. We checked in, bought our tickets, went through security and settled on metal seats. That was when we started the 2-hour wait.

After 2 hours…..

We boarded the small airplane and took our seats. I took the window seat. The flight lasts 1 hour. To pass the time, I listened to my iPod and watched videos they showed in the screen in front of our seats.

1 hour….

The plane touched down in Tagbilaran Airport. We hopped out of the plane and went to baggage claim to get our bags. When we went out of the airport, there was a van waiting to take us to Bellevue Resort. We were offered water bottles and cold towels. As we rode to the resort, the tour guide pointed out historical sites, tourist attractions, and towns. The ride lasted 45 minutes.

45 minutes passed…

We checked into our rooms. We rested for awhile on our beds before going downstairs for lunch. We felt ravenous from the 4-hour-45-minute journey. Our lunch was lip-smacking! After our meal, we went back to our rooms to rest some more.

Dinnertime

We ate noodle soup in our rooms, since we were too tired to go downstairs. There’s nothing else to say about that….

We ate at Lamian again, since there wasn’t another restaurant near the resort. I had pastries, cereal, fruits, yogurt and others. There are also honey, strawberry jam, butter, and different kinds of bread. There’s also soup, longganisa, bacon, chorizo, hard-boiled eggs, pancakes, and french toast. I liked their pastries, they were my favorite!

After breakfast, we went down to the beach. The tide has not come in yet, so we swam in the infinity pool first. It’s called infinity pool because from a view, the pool looked like it continues on to the ocean. After swimming in the pool for 2 hours, my family and I went back down to the beach. It’s high tide already, so we took a swim. The beach had clean, white sand and blue waves.
It was so beautiful! We also collected starfish. It wasn’t so hot today, at least.

Lunchtime!

This time, we went to Bohol Bee Farm, which takes 30 minutes to go there from the resort. I liked that restaurant; they used almost no plastic, which is environmental; and used organic food, which is healthy. We were seated at wooden tables on wooden seats. Instead of windows, they had a balcony overlooking the ocean. It was a breathtaking view. I loved the blue waters of Bohol!

The waitress arrived, and we started giving her our orders. Papa ordered liempo, Happy ordered lasagna, Mom ordered Fish and Chips, Zia ordered Ribs n’ Rice, Eco ordered Curry Pasta with chicken, Oz ordered Native Spicy Curry Chicken, and I ordered Honeycured Chicken. Papa ordered 2 kinds of salad for us to eat while waiting. They also served us bread with mango spread and pesto spread on the side. I liked that. When our food arrived, it turned out that most of the meals had salad on the side! We took the leftover salad with us instead to bring to the resort. After lunch, we went outside to buy organic ice cream and some small jars of mango and pesto spreads. Then we went back into the van and rode back.

Our Dinner

We ate at Lamian for dinner. They had lechon kawali, lamb adobo, glazed ribs, small cake slices, halo-halo, fruits, crepes, soup, and much more. I ate a little bit of each. The seasonings of each are just right, and they were made the way I liked it. After our delicious dinner, we took a walk down the beach, enjoying the cool ocean breeze and the sand between our toes.

It was our last day at the white beach of Bohol, so after breakfast we went there. Let me describe the breakfast first. The same pastries that I liked were there again, and I took some of them. There were also longganisa, hard- boiled eggs, chorizo, bacon(again!), made-to-order omelets, tocino, fruits, cereal, yogurt, and different kinds of juices. After our tummy-filling breakfast, we went to the pool and swam in the blue waters. When the tide finally came in, Mom and I went to the beach and enjoyed the blue waters, the soothing, gentle waves, the soft sand beneath us, and the soft rays of sunlight.

After we ate in our rooms by ordering room service, we packed our bags and checked out. We made our way to the airport and bought our tickets. We took  our seats to wait for our plane to arrive. I bought a stuffed tarsier from an airport booth nearby. We then boarded the plane and settled on our seats; this time Oz took the window seat. We landed at Manila airport 1 hour later. We dragged our bags to the car and rode back home.

Now here I am, a few days later: writing down our adventure and sharing the fun. I’d also like to share some facts I’d acquired from our trip:

Bohol is located at Central Visayas, Philippines. Its capital is Tagbilaran City. Their main produces are rice, coconuts, and corn. They also produce manganese, tin, and iron. They also make a living in trading.

One of their tourist attractions is the Chocolate Hills. They were created from millions of marine organisms like coral and shells piled layer upon layer. After thousands of years, the expose coral reefs turned into limestone. The 1,776 hills grew grass that turn brown during the dry season and green during the wet season. The Chocolate Hills were featured in the province flag and seal of Bohol to symbolize natural attractions.

Another tourist attraction is the Blood Compact Site. It is located in Barangay Bool. It was where the blood compact happened between Rajah Sikatuna and Miguel Lopez de Legaspi.

The hero born in Bohol is Francisco Dagohoy. He led the longest revolt in Philippine history.

That’s it! That’s our vacation at Bohol. For those who stayed awake late in the night to read this, thank you for taking the time to read this entry of mine. I appreciate it. A lot. Thanks again for reading this!
